US Castings, LLC Receives Certification

US Castings LLC, an aluminum casting foundry, located in Entiat, WA, recently announced that it has been re-certified under the NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) requirements for its heat-treat and NDT (non-destructive testing) capabilities. NADCAP combined with their certification to AS-9100 Quality Management System, under the auspices of ISO-9001-2000, is expected to allow US Castings to take in a significant amount of national and international defense and aerospace business.

When contacted for comment, US Castings’ management indicated that the company needed to tighten its foundry controls and reporting significantly to accomplish these goals. To this end, they were required to convert all of their heat-treat monitoring from analog to digital and improve the resolution of their in-house x-ray systems. “Once again, the pursuit of constant improvement and other lean initiatives has driven our foundry’s ability to serve existing and future customers, by increasing quality. It also allows us to provide additional in-house services that keep us in line with the one-stop shopping theory of production.”

US Castings, which is a subsidiary of Advanced Metals Group LLC, currently provides green sand, lost foam, permanent mold and no-bake foundry services on a just in time basis to the Aviation, Aerospace, Military and Marine industries. The company is not only certified as a HUB Zone business, but is also ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) registered with the US Department of State.
